It also reveals its full splendor with meat dishes, such as a perfectly pink-roasted pork tenderloin or a juicy chicken breast fillet. Its structure and complexity also make it an ideal partner for a selection of cheeses, from mild brie to flavorful cheddar. Served at a temperature of 10-12°C, the Keltis Chardonnay unveils its full range of aromas. It is recommended to use a wine glass with a wider opening to fully bring out the flavors. The Keltis Chardonnay should be stored in a cool, dark place, ideally in a wine cellar or a dedicated wine fridge. The optimal storage temperature is between 12 and 14°C. | The history of the Keltis estate, led by the Kelhar family, is a fascinating journey through time, characterized by tradition, passion, and innovation. Founded in the late 1980s by Marijan Kelhar after taking over the responsibility for the farm and vineyards from his parents, Keltis has evolved into a boutique winemaker that bottled its first wines under this name in 1989.
The Kelhar family, deeply rooted in the wine region of Bizeljsko in Slovenia, has an impressive history dating back to 1776 when they felled 17 mighty oaks, later used to construct a wine building. This building is now an iconic symbol of the estate, representing the family's deep connection to their land. The Kelhar family has overcome challenges over the years, such as the phylloxera outbreak in 1880, and has consistently adapted to changing conditions in winemaking. In 2007, they began focusing on organic production and built a new wine cellar. Today, the estate is run by Marijan's sons Luka and Miha, with Miha taking the lead in the cellar. Their philosophy is based on passion, understanding, patience, knowledge, and hard work – values that can be felt in every drop of Keltis wine. |
