Product details

Keltis Cuvee Extreme is truly a unique wine that captures the essence of Slovenian winemaking art. With an alcohol content of 13% and aging potential of 10 to 15 years, this wine presents itself as a long-lasting masterpiece. Its orange color is a visual promise of an unforgettable tasting experience.

This wine is a blend crafted from a careful selection of various grapes. Its complexity and depth are the result of traditional maceration lasting 3 to 4 weeks and aging in large wooden barrels. These methods give it a rich texture and a multi-layered flavor profile. On the palate, Keltis Cuvee Extreme unfolds a symphony of flavors. It offers a harmonious balance between fruitiness and spiciness. The tannins are well-integrated, providing structure to the wine, while the natural acidity ensures freshness and liveliness.

Recommended Moments to Enjoy Keltis Chardonnay

Keltis Cuvee Extreme is a versatile companion for a variety of occasions. It pairs excellently with hearty meat dishes such as braised beef or lamb but also provides an interesting contrast to prosciutto and smoked fish. Serve this wine at a temperature of 12-14°C to bring out its flavors optimally. It is ideal for social evenings with friends or as an elegant accompaniment to a festive meal. Its complexity and rich aroma make it an excellent conversation starter for wine enthusiasts.

Keltis Cuvee Extreme should be stored in a cool, dark place to preserve its quality. Ideally, store it at a constant temperature. The wine has a storage potential of at least 10 to 15 years, making it an excellent choice for collectors. Open the bottle approximately one hour before consumption to let the wine breathe and reveal its full spectrum of flavors.

Keltis Kelhar: Winemaking Art Across Generations

The history of the Keltis winery, led by the Kelhar family, is a fascinating journey through time, characterized by tradition, passion, and innovation. Founded in the late 1980s by Marijan Kelhar after taking over the responsibility for the farm and vineyards from his parents, Keltis has evolved into a boutique winemaker that bottled its first wines under this name in 1989.

The Kelhar family, deeply rooted in the wine region of Bizeljsko in Slovenia, has an impressive history dating back to 1776 when they felled 17 mighty oak trees to later build a wine building. This building is now a landmark of the winery and symbolizes the family's deep connection to their land. The Kelhar family has overcome challenges over the years, such as the phylloxera disaster in 1880, and has always adapted to the changing conditions of winemaking. In 2007, they began to focus on organic production and built a new wine cellar. Today, the winery is run by Marijan's sons Luka and Miha, with Miha taking the lead in the cellar. Their philosophy is based on passion, understanding, patience, knowledge, and hard work - values that are evident in every drop of Keltis wine.
