The Keuper & Kalk Cuvée by Stephan Kraemer is a worthy representative of white natural wines from Germany. Mosty, slightly yeasty, cloudy yet remarkably easy to drink and aromatic. An exciting natural wine for everyday enjoyment with only 11% alcohol, full of freshness, with fine tannic grip and invigorating juiciness. Produced from Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, and Joanniter grape varieties, it results in an exciting, easy-to-drink Cuvée. Its name comes from the gypsum keuper and limestone soils of the Franconian region. Stephan Kraemer's personal stylistic signature is clearly evident in this vinophilic creation: bone-dry, mineral, straightforward, and beautiful fruit. |

The Keuper & Kalk Cuvée is a great companion to many dishes. It pairs particularly well with Asian and Mediterranean cuisine. Its pleasant tannic structure and juiciness make it the ideal partner for relaxed culinary experiences with friends. The ideal serving temperature is around 10 - 12°C. The wine should be stored in a cool place, ideally in a wine fridge. The optimal storage temperature is between 8 and 10°C. To preserve its quality, the wine should be protected from direct sunlight and strong temperature fluctuations. |

We have had Stephan Kraemer on our "wine radar" for quite some time, and now we finally have two of his wines in the webshop! All his wines come from organically certified vineyards and are annually certified by an independent inspection body. The wines are aged in stainless steel tanks or German oak barrels. Spontaneous fermentation with natural yeasts without temperature control results in wines with great individuality. A long contact with the lees for almost 12 months and a minimal sulfur addition before bottling, if necessary, accompany the aging process. He refrains from using fining agents for clarification and taste harmonization of the wines. Only sulfur is used for stabilization, well below legal maximum levels. Ascorbic acid, gum arabic, meta wine acid, and other wine stabilizers are fundamentally avoided. His wines are minimally or not filtered, hence they exhibit a slight cloudiness due to natural sedimentation. |
